Background

We first met Hugh Griffiths, Managing Director of Hi-Line Contractors (SW) Limited, some 20 years ago when he was setting up the business. We arranged the funding for his first two vehicles – two Ford Transit vans from a local Devon dealer, and have financed many assets since then.

Challenge

This was a new start business – a new limited company with no credit rating but an Managing Director with a good track record within the industry, with clear aspirations in respect of what he wanted to achieve.

Solution

The customer’s experience, good contacts and realistic plans enabled funders to respond in a positive manner, coupled with the funder’s good experience in this market sector. In more recent times some items of equipment and the supply route have proved challenging and this is where our panel of lenders has proved invaluable.

Outcome

All three of our directors have taken the time to build a sound relationship with this client. We have demonstrated an understanding of the business and the customer’s needs and have set the foundation for a good, ongoing relationship. This has enabled us to be able to package each finance application in the most effective way to achieve funding.

The different numbers of finance houses that we have access to has opened up good future funding opportunities for this client – Hi-Line have 200+ employees working out of bases in Exeter, Bristol and Bodmin.
